A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Hello again.
I'm Modupe.
Author. Storyteller. Lifelong daydreamer.
I was that child. The one who could disappear into a book so completely that calling my name was practically a waste of time.
And even after I'd finished reading, the story wasn't necessarily finished with me. I'd replay scenes in my head, imagine different endings, rearrange events and wonder what might have happened if a character had made just one different choice.
Apparently, I wasn't content to simply read the story. I wanted to interfere with it.
Funny enough, I didn't spend my childhood writing novels. Poetry was more my thing. But the love of a good story never went anywhere.
So how did I end up writing fiction?
Somewhere along the way, helping the next generation know God and live for Him became deeply important to me.
I began noticing just how much influence stories had on children. They'd fall in love with certain characters, get completely caught up in their worlds and repeat things they'd heard or seen in those stories. And sometimes, without even realising it, those stories were shaping how they thought, what they admired and the choices they made.
I wanted to tell stories that were every bit as captivating as the ones children already loved, but filled with the life-giving truth of God's Word.
Not stories where the adventure stops so someone can deliver a sermon. Stories with characters you care about, worlds you want to explore, and plots that keep you turning pages long after you should have gone to bed. Stories where faith isn't simply something the characters talk about. It's something they live.
And, of course, there had to be intrigue. Because really, what's a good story without a little mystery?
BEYOND THE PAGE
More than books
My imagination has a habit of wandering into other places too. I'm also a minister, speaker and creative entrepreneur, and through my work in children's ministry, Inovela and Wonda Daily, I get to create different ways for children and young people to know God, discover His Word and live out their faith.
Sometimes that takes the form of a novel. Other times, it's a devotional, a game or an interactive experience.
BACK TO THE STORIES
Now, where were we?
Oh yes. The stories.
There are more on the way, but for now, a few characters are waiting to meet you.
